About Us

Our Story

A flying farm. It began with a couple chickens. Like so many others, we wanted to have fresh eggs. Of course once you start getting animals, you can't stop with one kind.

Moving past chickens meant moving to the country and buying some land.  The opportunity to do that happened in August 2018.  We found the perfect house on five acres.  It didn’t happen over night.  We had to build a fence and a goat house first.  Then the search for our first goats seemed to be filled with dead ends.  Thankfully, God had a plan for us and revealed it in His time.  Eventually the right goats came our way and then Ares, our livestock guard dog, who protects our herd.

We’re still in the building phase, but we’re getting there.  The storms and COVID put a delay on the construction of a barn.  We’ve made due with smaller structures during the kidding season this year.  Thankfully goats are low maintenance animals.  We recently began milk testing with Washington DHIA.  The data this provides is very valuable to our breeding plan.  We are attending our 4H livestock shows this winter and continue to look for ADGA and ARBA shows.

You may be wondering about the flying picture.  My day job is a pilot/flight instructor.  Flying allows us to transport animals, on occasion, by air that would otherwise have taken several hours each way in a truck.
